Why is my piece so expensive?
Each order is shown in a breakdown of the initial quote, the more complex the piece and the size of the piece depends on the raw materials costs, which make up the main baulk of the price. Other costings we keep to the minimum we can, for example sundries such as sanding discs, oils, resin colour pigment, electricity, and labour.
What resin do you use?
Our main choice of resin we use is a British based company called Vista Vuba who offer a huge range of products specifically for the type of work we produce, in our own experience this has proven to be of a superb quality and adaptable in various pours.
Where does my wood come from?
We scour a range of British Forestry commission, suppliers for the perfect slab needed to work your piece, considering the size of your project, the style of wood you have chosen and the budget you have. We always advise you before purchase provide you with pictures so you can visualise how your piece will come together.
Why does it take 6 weeks or longer for my order?
Every order is thoroughly thought out, from the moisture content in the wood, as we may have to kiln dry these before use, to the flattening, making moulds, pouring, setting, and sanding before the final chosen finish can be applied. Each stage needs to be nurtured meticulously before the next can proceed, meaning a week or more in between to achieve the perfect result. On occasions we collect the wood from the suppliers ourselves as this can be more cost effective than the delivery price or using couriers, therefore, we sometimes must wait until the wood is available to collect, depending on companies.
What guarantee’s do you provide?
We aim to resolve any issues you may have in a very timely manor, as these are such personal pieces, we are in constant updates with yourselves throughout the process to get exactly what you envisioned. In the unlikely event you should not be happy with the finish of your piece we offer a consultation to resolve this. We always advise that colour matches can never be exact due to the nature of photography. We also explain that some artistic licence is given due to the nature of wood and its many possibilities. As each piece is unique, we cannot return deposits as this takes up the main baulk of the cost of materials. However, please rest assured we take pride in your happiness and hope that we never have to get to this stage.
How will my order arrive?
Generally we will deliver your piece to mainland UK and install it in your home, as we offer a personal service, meaning you are not expect to attach your own legs for example, we are not a typical flat pack production so this is also a great way for us to see the finished project in it’s environment that we have invested our passion in for you.
